To propose and recommend terms and conditions in respect of risks/policies, adhering to underwriting guidelines, authority limits, treaty limits and treaty conditions at all times.
Present such terms for approval of direct manager or head office as applicable.

Complete necessary documents and forms relating to respective underwriting transactions for the review of the direct manager or head office as prescribed in the underwriting guidelines and procedures manuals.

Accurately record and process all claims transactions as per claims guidelines and procedures.

Present claims exceeding branch’s authority to head office for approval with complete information and branch recommendations.

1.Ensure underwriting information and proposal forms are complete and perform risk assessment under the guidance of direct manager or head office.
2.Arrange pre-underwriting surveys and monitor physical risk accumulations.
3.Prepare slips, quotations and recommend terms to the direct manager or head office for acceptance of risks as per delegated underwriting authority.
4.Undertake renewal review exercise, invite renewals on timely basis and follow up renewals to maximize renewal retention.
5.Process complex policies and related documentation. Ensure all policies and related documents are processed in a timely manner.
6.Ensure timely facultative reinsurance placements and special acceptance approvals with no gaps in coverage prior to binding risk.
7.Ensure all filing and administration in respect of underwriting and claims is complete and done in a professional manner.
8.Act prudently within delegated authorities, adhering to four eyes principle at all times.
9.Adhere to the Company’s internal procedures and guidelines including but not limited to underwriting and claims guidelines/authorities.
10.Ensure claim processes such as recording first notification of loss and claims registration are carried out in a timely manner.
11.Appoint surveyors, loss adjusters, investigators or lawyers immediately wherever delegated.
12.Diary and follow up with the surveyors, loss adjusters, investigators, lawyers, clients and brokers on outstanding reports, court cases and technical issues.
13.Report to direct manager on a regular basis on technical issues.
14.Update claim reserves in the system, review reserve movements on quarterly basis and take appropriate action wherever necessary.
15.Communicate with all stake holders including but not limited to clients, brokers, loss adjusters, surveyors, lawyers and head office from time to time on various technical matters.
16.Process settlement of claims in the system as per delegated authority.
17.Prepare and submit underwriting and claim statistics to head office, clients and brokers as per agreed frequency.
18.Maintain records of underwriting and claim files for adequate period as per compulsory requirements and company policies.
19.Adhere to the contents of the Operating Procedures Manual (OPM) and the Company’s overall internal procedures and policies.
20.Perform miscellaneous tasks within the scope of work, as assigned by the direct manager.

• 5 years of core underwriting and claims experience in the technical department of an insurance company in Gulf.
