Our client, a leading Business Group with multi - channel operations spread across GCC and in India with its headquarters in Dubai, UAE is hiring a Group Chief Financial Officer.

Develop, direct and ensure the implementation of financial strategies, policies, plans systems and procedures in order to ensure the sound Financial management of the Group and the timely and accurate preparation of Financial and Management accounts in accordance with international accounting standards, group financial policies and statutory requirements of each country.

Roles & Responsibilities
•Financial Management and Management Accounting
•Develop financial strategies, policies, plans, systems and procedures in order to ensure the sound financial Management of Group.
•Direct the timely and accurate preparation of financial and Management accounts in accordance with International accounting standards, group financial policies and statutory requirements of each county.

Commercial Management
•Lead the periodic review and realignment of commercial practices in order to secure the best commercial advantage for the group.
•Analyse all contractual terms and participates in commercial negotiation in order to secure the best commercial terms for business in the interests of the Group.
•Lead the process of continuous improvement through new ways of working to identify significant cost savings and higher efficiencies in the business.
•Provide the Group CEO with financial and commercial guidance to influence the profitability of the business through the effective management of the budgeting and review process.

Treasury Management
•Ensure the acquisition of fund from banks and financial institutions and the optimum utilization of fund across all strategic Business Unit (SBU)
•Ensure all finance facilities (letters of credits, bank guarantees, credit lines ,etc) are negotiated on terms are negotiated on terms that secure the Company’s best interests at the lowest risk.
•Develop and review hedging strategies to minimize current expose.
•Manage banking relationships across the regions to secure the most advantageous banking terms and facilities

MIS and Budgets
•Direct the preparation and presentation of the annual budgeting process and review in accordance with Group policy, guidelines and schedules.
•Lead the corporate security and monitoring of Strategic Business Unit plans and budgets in order to provide insightful guidance and robust challenge.
•Ensure the timely preparation and development of relevant business information to provide management with tools for decision making.
•Ensure that MIS system is used to improve forecasting and real time management decision making
•Ensure the setting of measureable targets for various operational disciplines (Sales, margins, stock losses, cost, etc) and subsequent review of actual performance against targets to continually assess the business performance.

Financial Risk Management
•Identify and review key business risks and develop strategies to minimize financial risks and losses to the SBU by developing and implementing operational procedures to ensure assets and capital are secure.
•Ensure review systems and processes are in place in order to achieve synergies, cost saving, improved buying processes, higher margins and reduced inventory levels that impact business profitability.

Business Expansion
•Provide the financial and commercial perspective in the development of business strategies and review of financial investment proposals for the expansion of existing businesses and growth of new businesses

Systems Development
•Direct and ensure that IT and system needs of the Finance Department are identified and timely and effectively met through the development of appropriate systems with the support of the IT department and software providers to address the business needs.
Human Resource management and Development
•Ensure the effective achievement of Finance Department functional objective through the leadership of finance staff in order to maximize subordinate and departmental performance
•Ensure that the finance structure across the Business is staffed with appropriate caliber professionals and motivate, train and develop them to perform their tasks as specified in their job description.
•Organize the appraisal of staff to assess the effectiveness of available staff to meet current and future needs .Plan the systematic succession planning for all key jobs in order to ensure sustainability of the Finance function in the future.

Job requirements
•Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (MBA preferred)
•Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CPA, ACCA)
•10+ years’ experience in Significant senior management experience.
•Proven and significant experience and recognized credibility in the primary industry.
•Stakeholder management experience
•Ex Proven strategic financial planning and execution.
•Proven leadership and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to interpret, extract and analyse financial information.
•Skilled in examining, developing, re-engineering and recommending financial, technology policies and procedures
•Ability to make informed decisions independently.
•Strong planning, organising, productivity and time management skills
•High level of commercial acumen and sound decision making abilities
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers, staff, managers, partners and suppliers.
•An ability to negotiate effectively
•Continually striving for improvement via new and effective work practices
•Work in a professional and ethical manner and maintain confidentiality at all times patience managing additional support services (i.e. IT and HR)
